How to Verify an Automotive Sensor Supplier in China
Sensors can share a housing and connector while differing in pinout, range, calibration, protocol, signal, electronics, temperature rating, or application. Supplier verification must include function and traceability, not appearance alone.

Use this guide for pressure, temperature, position, speed, oxygen, ABS, crankshaft, camshaft, and other electronic sensors. Define the exact sensor type and required evidence before comparing quotations.

What the buyer should verify
Application and interface
Confirm OE reference, vehicle and engine, market, connector housing, keying, pin count, pinout, thread or mounting, orientation, cable, and supplied seals.
Electrical and functional specification
Define supply voltage, output type, range, tolerance, signal, protocol, response, temperature, sealing, diagnostics, calibration, and prohibited substitutions.
Electronics and process control
Review chip or element source where relevant, PCB or assembly route, soldering, potting, calibration, end-of-line testing, traceability, software or firmware control, and change management.
Sample and batch evidence
Approve connector, markings, dimensions, signal or function evidence, packaging, and application, then define production testing and inspection records.

Freeze the electrical requirement
Record the OE and application with connector, pinout, voltage, output, range, tolerance, protocol, temperature, and environmental needs.
Verify the engineering and source role
Identify whether the supplier designs, assembles, calibrates, tests, or trades the sensor and who controls electronic-component changes.
Approve functional sample evidence
Compare the physical interface, markings, electrical behavior, application, environmental claims, labels, and packaging against the reference.
Define batch traceability
Require lot or date coding, production-test records, change control, quantity, workmanship, labels, packaging, and correction evidence.

Warning signs
- The supplier confirms compatibility from housing appearance or connector shape only.
- Signal, range, pinout, protocol, calibration, or environmental claims are not documented.
- Electronic components or firmware can change without buyer notification or validation.
Responsibility boundary
Electrical and electronic parts may require specialist equipment, vehicle diagnostics, environmental testing, EMC review, software validation, and destination compliance. Visual inspection alone cannot prove function or durability.
