How to Verify a Shock Absorber Supplier in China
Shock absorbers may look correct while differing in damping curve, travel, mount, seal system, oil, gas charge, rod finish, welds, or internal components. Supplier evidence must go beyond exterior dimensions.

What the buyer should verify
Application and geometry
Confirm OE reference, vehicle and axle position, extended and compressed length, stroke, mounts, brackets, spring seat, orientation, and included hardware.
Construction and components
Clarify twin-tube or monotube design, rod, tube, piston, valve, seal, guide, oil, gas, welds, coatings, and subcontracted components.
Process and performance evidence
Review cleanliness, filling, gas charging, sealing, welding, leak checks, force or damping test access, traceability, and calibration controls.
Sample and batch control
Approve fitment points, finish, operation, markings, packaging, and relevant force or leak evidence, then define production inspection.

Freeze the application and target
Record the OE reference, vehicle position, geometry, construction, expected ride or force data, packaging, and market needs.
Verify the internal-component route
Identify which parts and processes are made, purchased, or subcontracted and how incoming variation is controlled.
Review sample evidence
Compare dimensions, mount details, rod movement, finish, leakage, noise, markings, and available damping or force data.
Set production release checks
Use identity, dimensions, leaks, movement, workmanship, labels, packaging, traceability, and agreed performance evidence.

Warning signs
- The supplier treats exterior dimensions as the complete product specification.
- Force or damping claims cannot be connected to the quoted application and construction.
- Seal, rod, tube, bracket, finish, or packaging details change after sample approval.
Responsibility boundary
Supplier review and routine inspection cannot prove full durability, damping performance, fatigue life, or vehicle behavior. Use appropriate engineering and performance validation for the target application.
