Packaging and artwork control

Private-Label Packaging Checklist for China Auto Parts Orders

Private-label packaging creates a second product specification. Artwork, labels, barcodes, pack quantity, carton marks, trademark authority, and revision control must be approved separately from the part.

When to use this guide

Use this checklist before paying artwork or printing costs and again before shipment. It helps prevent correct parts from being delayed, rejected, or misidentified because the packaging record is incomplete.

Decision checklist

What the buyer should verify

Brand and legal authority

Confirm who owns or authorizes the trademark, which logos may be printed, and what destination-market claims or warnings require review.

Artwork revision

Record the approved file name, date, language, dimensions, colors, barcode data, part number, vehicle application, origin marking, and responsible approver.

Packaging construction

Define box, bag, insert, tray, protection, sealing, label position, unit pack quantity, inner carton, master carton, and pallet needs.

Production and inspection

Approve a printed sample and check artwork, print quality, labels, barcodes, pack quantity, carton marks, protection, and mixed-SKU separation before shipment.

Working sequence

Move from supplier claim to buyer decision

01

Separate product and packaging approvals

Do not let a product sample automatically approve artwork, labels, cartons, or trademark use.

02

Freeze one artwork package

Store the final source file, print-ready export, barcode data, translations, dieline, and written approval under one revision.

03

Approve a physical print sample

Check dimensions, colors, readability, barcode scan, label position, box strength, protection, and fit before mass printing.

04

Inspect packing against the order

Confirm the correct part, packaging revision, quantity, label, carton mark, inner pack, master carton, and pallet configuration by SKU.

Evidence to collect

  • Trademark or brand-use authority where required
  • Approved artwork, dieline, translation, barcode, and revision record
  • Physical printed sample and packaging construction approval
  • Unit, inner, master carton, and pallet packing specification
  • Pre-shipment packaging, label, barcode, and carton inspection evidence

Warning signs

  • The supplier copies an OEM logo or branded box without written authorization.
  • Artwork is approved in chat images without a controlled file and revision.
  • Product, label, and carton data use different part numbers or quantities.

Responsibility boundary

Kymon can coordinate packaging records and inspection. The buyer remains responsible for trademark rights, legal claims, translations, labeling rules, and destination-market compliance unless a qualified adviser is engaged.

What should I approve before mass packaging production?

Approve the dieline, artwork revision, translation, part number, barcode, colors, material, dimensions, protection method, pack quantity, label position, and a physical print sample.
