Alibaba supplier due diligence

How to Verify an Alibaba Auto Parts Supplier Before Payment

A marketplace profile can start a supplier search, but the order still depends on the legal company, actual source, correct part, payment path, and production controls behind the listing.

When to use this guide

Use this guide after shortlisting a seller and before paying a deposit. The goal is to connect the storefront, quotation, Chinese company, proposed bank account, product evidence, and factory claim into one consistent transaction.

Decision checklist

What the buyer should verify

01

Legal and commercial identity

Compare the Chinese company name, quotation issuer, invoice party, storefront operator, email domain, and proposed payment beneficiary.

02

Factory or trading role

Ask who manufactures the requested part, which process is completed on site, and which work is subcontracted or purchased from another source.

03

Product-specific capability

Request evidence tied to your part, such as equipment, tooling, drawings, test access, packaging capability, and similar production records.

04

Sample and inspection access

Confirm that the supplier will provide a sample, accept an agreed inspection scope, and correct documented issues before shipment release.

Working sequence

Move from supplier claim to buyer decision

01

Freeze the RFQ

Record OE numbers, vehicle application, photos, dimensions, quantity, packaging, destination, and document requirements.

02

Verify the transaction parties

Resolve differences between the storefront name, business license, proforma invoice, exporter, and bank beneficiary.

03

Approve evidence before deposit

Review the supplier role, sample plan, certificate scope, production capability, and inspection access while payment can still be paused.

04

Tie payment to order controls

Put the approved specification, correction duties, packaging, inspection, balance condition, and shipment documents in writing.

Evidence to collect

  • Chinese business license and consistent English company details
  • Quotation and proforma invoice issued by the expected contracting party
  • Bank beneficiary explanation where the name differs from the seller
  • Product-specific factory, tooling, sample, or production evidence
  • Written acceptance of sample, inspection, packaging, and correction terms

Warning signs

  • A personal or unrelated bank account is introduced shortly before payment.
  • The seller avoids product-specific factory evidence and sends only generic workshop media.
  • OE references, materials, packaging, or inspection access change after the quotation is accepted.

Responsibility boundary

Kymon is not affiliated with Alibaba. Supplier verification reduces uncertainty but does not guarantee future quality, delivery, or financial performance. Samples and order-specific inspection remain separate controls.
